Magnetic properties of as-prepared (sputtered) and annealed Fe,Sil-, (0.64 5 x 5 0.78) amorphous films deposited at room temperature, are interpreted in terms of chemical short-range order and compared with evaporated films deposited at 77 K. CHEMICAL SHORT RANGE ORDER IN Fe20Ni60B20 AMORPHOUS ALLOY

We have seen, by Mossbauer spectroscopy, magnetization and resistivity, changes on the physical properties of the aFe20Ni6oB20 alloy induced by thermal relaxation, notedly increases in T, and resistivity. These changes can be explained by modifications of the chemical short range order around Fe favouring the formation of Fe-Ni pairs.
